I analyse the transnational cinema of Ang Lee. Though the Lee's films, they can define the main elements in transnational cinema. Accounting to this essay, it also analyse the aesthetic strategies in Lee's transnational films, such as the "Father knows best" trilogy, include Pushing Hands, The Wedding Banquet and Eat Drink Man Woman, and another one famous transnational film Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon.

Ang Lee, as an Academy Award winning Chinese film director, he succeeds to span subject matter between China and west, and make a great success in American market. In lee's transnational films, they are identified by Chinese and western culture, this is one of the most important reason for success.
